Arroyo Burro Beach County Park

The Arroyo Burro is our favorite beach in the County Parks system. It’s a beautiful spot, and it has one big advantage over the East Beach: it’s much less crowded. You won’t have to fight for a parking spot or a spot on the beach, and you’ll have peace and quiet as you swim or sunbathe. The downside? You’ll have to bring everything you need with you, and the bathrooms and showers are only open during the summer months. If you’re looking for a beach experience that’s a little less hectic, Arroyo Burro is the one for you.

An affordable getaway for RVers, Campers, and Car-Campers alike, Rancho Oso is nestled high in the hills above the Pacific Ocean. For an added fee, guests are welcome to explore the historic buildings and picnic with their families around the campground’s dog-friendly lake. The campground offers tent, RV, and campsite for rent, and provides easy access to the California and Pacific Coast Trails.

It offers 62 campsites in a wooded setting, each equipped with water, electricity, and a picnic table. There are also a number of amenities on offer, including a swimming pool and a hiking trail that leads to the lake.

Earl Warren RV Park

Earl Warren (not to be confused with the former California governor) is a Santa Barbara institution. It’s the place to go if you want to enjoy the beach without resort-level costs. The campground is located at the end of a long dirt road that’s just a few blocks from the main drag. It’s not too far, though, and the walk is actually pleasant, especially if you’re heading up for a late-night show at the casino. The casino isn’t the only thing that’s nearby. There’s a good-sized convenience store about half a mile down the main road.
